Exploring Decades of Artistry: Journeying Through Themes, Media, and Identity

Unveiling a Lifelong Artistic Odyssey: From South African Traditions to Judaic Themes, and Beyond

Current Exhibition

About my art…
In this exhibition I am showing some work that I have made over the past
few decades leading up to the art I am making at present.
I have explored different themes ,media and ideas.
The South African ethnic scene reveals a rich cultural tradition which
which was the subject matter of my earlier paintings.
. The excitement and sensuality of dance was another theme I explored.
The beautiful wild life of our country is a popular and infinite theme which I
enjoyed painting about.
The unique South African landscape offers endless variety which I loved
exploring at different times in different media e.g pastel ,water colour
acrylics and oil paint.
More recently I have explored Judaic themes which is a part of who I am.
Recently I was invited to demonstrate abstract art which made me rethink
the techniques and material I use.
In the past I have explored using different materials aware
of the dictum of Conceptual Art where ‘the media is a metaphor for the
meaning’,as a result of a post graduate course I did in Visual art.
Materials become essential to expression and I found inspiration in exploringthe
potential of everything from puzzle pieces, CDs,string and zippers .
I am enjoying exploring the infinite possibilities of the most unlikely
material at present.
I believe my art is autobiographical expressing my experience of my inner being
and my interpretation of my personal reality.
I hope the work my make is relevant to the audience out there.
